Job Description

Academic Work is looking for a Big Data Processing Specialist for our client company Cyberlightning Oy.

You will be hired by Academic Work and will work as a consultant in our client company’s office.

Job Duties

In this job you have two duties – to consult existing clients and offer them data processing solutions and to further develop Cyberlightning’s own software CyberVille.

With Cyberlightning’s existing clients your job is to offer them consulting for their problems with their machines and devices. You will provide them data processing services with existing tools e.g. Apache data processing toolset. In a consulting role you work closely with clients. Your previous experience in handling similar issues in the data processing context gives you the tools and skills to succeed in this position.

Also you will play a key role in developing CyberVille – our client’s own data processing framework. You will provide ideas for the software’s architecture and realize them in lines of code. Ideally you have the theoretical and practical knowledge in software architecture. You will program new modules for the framework with e.g. Python3 and functional programming languages. Your skills in data processing tools and programming are an essential asset for our client!

This role offers you a position in the world leading 3D Industrial Internet of Things expert team with responsibilities in challenging areas.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a couple of years´ work experience in data processing and programming. You are familiar with Python3. You have a university degree in, for example, mathematics, data science or computer science. Understanding big data processing using modern methods and tools (such as Apache data processing toolset) is necessary. You communicate fluently in English (both written and spoken).

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Two-years work experience in data processing and programming
  • Relevant educational background
  • Programming skills (Python3)
  • Skills in modern data-analysis and processing methods
  • Experience with algorithms
  • Experience in version control
  • Ability to understand and work with Software architecture
  • Fluent English (both written and spoken)

In addition, we appreciate know-how in functional programming languages and previous experience in Disco framework.
