Aika mielenkiintoinen puhelin kyllä, johan tässä on sitä vähän aikaa odoteltukin. Voi olla että tulee hommattua lähitulevaisuudessa, vaikka nykyinen 5-vuotias Nokia 3410 vielä palveleekin hyvin

subject Cleared to start Mass production
The latest update I have from the factory indicates that mass Production (
that means running the SMT line without stopping to check stuff every two
seconds) has been CLEARED TO START.
juu mielenkiinnolla ja positiivisella innolla sitä minäkin odotan, mutt mutt… se akun kestämättömyys - tuskin edes 8 tuntia…
Siinähän tarvitaan repullinen akkuja mukana jos kotoa tai duunista lähtee :-\

Akkukesto tällä hetkellä stand-by -modessa (eli virta päällä, ei suspendattuna) noin 8 tuntia. TUlevaisuudessa herää standby-tilasta gsm-eventin saapuessa joka pidentää kestoa mutta kernel ei vielä tue.
Siis, tulevaisuudessa herää suspend-tilasta.

Sotkee nuo lontooksi mutta ei suomeksikaan ole helppo. Mikä on keskeytystila, mikä on valmiustila… Ainkain KDE:ssä näin…
Itse olin se joka tuolla ubuntu-forumilla sekoili, mutta tässä tuoretta dataa:
To recap:
- GSM turned on
- wifi turned off
- bluetooth turned off
- gps turned off
- power saving enabled (dim, no lock)
- total talk time of 6:02:32 with constant audio on both sides of the 'conversation'
And thanks to those who sent messages (and Steve confirming on the list) that my Freerunner is NOT running the ASU stack. I’ve watched the YouTube video of the ASU stack and it’s completely different. My bad.

subject SMT is running!
So I got word from the factory that we have our date.
And we got the line.
And parts are being planted on boards this week.
I know it’s been a long wait for everybody, but the stone is almost to the top of the hill.

I’ve just conducted some very brief (accidental) battery testing:
I charged my FreeRunner yesterday and unplugged it when I left work
(about 5 PM). it was on “Dim first then lock” power management mode.
Took the phone home with me, left it untouched all evening, came back
to work this morning and left it on my desk.
At about 2 this afternoon I pushed the power button, it came out of
suspend and displayed that the power meter was still green. Note,
during this period the suspend function was working as I’d expect it
to: It goes into that mode and stays off until you push the power
button. The phone was also able to be woken up by calling it.
What usually happens, however, is that the phone randomly wakes itself
up out of suspend mode, shows the screen lock and goes back to sleep.
If you’ve ever gone to bed with a FreeRunner somewhere in the room,
you’ll know that this is very annoying. During this cyclical behaviour
the battery is drained very quickly.
Today, unfortunately, I ran opkg update && upgrade and seem to have
reintroduced this power management bug. Since earlier this afternoon
therefore, the phone has been repeatedly waking itself up and
suspending again. Battery life has drastically suffered as a result.

Hitsiku joku suomalainenkin LIIKE sais/ottais noita myyntiinsä, niin meiänkin firma vois tilata niitä.

Se on pahimman sortin virhe, mikä uudelle tuotteelle voidaan tehdä!
Ostajia huijataan! Ja he pettyvät ja kiroavat ko linuxin sen mukana.
Ymmärrän kyll, ett tuottoa sijoituksille pitää saada mahd pian, mutt omille kintuille ei silti kantsi pissiä.
Raakile tuote hankaloittaa muidenkin, perässä julkitulevien mahdollisuuksia.
Yks tuote leimaa samalla muutkin.

Eli vaikka se on periaatteessa tarkoitettu ihan normikuluttajille, se ei ole sitä vielä markkinoille tullessaan, vaan vasta kun softa saadaan hioutta paremmaksi.
