ABOUT THE ROLE
Academic Work is looking for 3 Junior System Developers (functional programming) to our client, a versatile and fast-growing IT consultancy founded by young professionals.
This job is a staffing position, which means that you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant at our client. The name of the client will be told to candidates continuing in the application process.
JOB DUTIES
In this position, you will become part of a new team that is assigned to create a completely new customer data system for the company’s client. You will be part of the project from the beginning until the end and focus on utilizing and developing your skills in functional programming. Your job consists of planning, developing and testing the product. You will get full support from the project owners who are top performers in their field.
This position suits you who has some experience in functional programming from internships or your own hobbies and a great desire to learn more. You will become part of an ambitious team where the slogan is: “young heart, senior skills”. Are you ready to put all your efforts in becoming a true professional?
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Our ideal candidate has former experience from functional programming (for example Clojure, Haskell, Elixir, Erlang, Python you name it) from your own projects or work. You also have some knowledge of databases, SQL or NoSQL. You have good mathematical skills and most of all; you are passionate about coding and learning more.

- Practical experience from functional coding (from example Clojure, Haskell, Elixir, Erlang, Python or ML languages) from your own projects, summer work, internships or work; and an ability to show your skills
- Some knowledge of databases, SQL or NoSQL
- Fluent communication skills in English
It is also seen as an advantage if you have knowledge of GraphQL, Docker, Go, Rust, API’s, or AWS-cloud services but it is not mandatory. Most important is your will and ability to learn more about functional programming. Our client will give you the tools for your growth.
