Academic Work is looking for a Principal Software Engineer for our client company Asqelle Oy, located in Helsinki!

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will take care of coding and work with operating systems, both configuring and implementing new ones. In the future, you will also co-work with subcontractors and manage projects with them. The position includes independent teamwork so you will get a good chance to concentrate on your own work.

The new product you will work with is called Argon, which is a device used for security screening. It screens people and can be used even for screening bigger crowds.

Our ideal candidate has a university degree in mathematics, physics or computer science. You are competent in Linux environment and have programmed with C/C++ languages. Your personal interests, experience, and desire to code and solve mathematical problems is crucial. Through your studies and work, you are familiar with algorithms. You are a hard worker and won’t let small obstacles stop you from achieving your goals. You also enjoy managing projects and the challenges they bring, which you like to solve on your own. You possess the interpersonal skills necessary to perform efficiently in a small team. Please note that fluent Finnish is not required.

• A background in mathematics, physics or computer science
• Good skills with mathematics, algorithms and logical thinking
• Highly fluent English, both oral and written

You have also skills in:
• C/C++
• Code optimizing & debugging tools
• Python
• Linux

Linux Kernel knowledge is considered as an asset, and we appreciate experience in System device interfacing and Admin in addition to TCP/IP and Matlab. You have probably even trifled with Linux-server or created own Python projects on your free time.
